Survey of concepts and methods of security policies, models and mechanisms for secrecy, integrity, availability, and authentication. Topics covered include security policies; access control; introduction to cryptography; control and prevention of viruses and other rogue programs; common system vulnerabilities and countermeasures; and legal and social issues. (Formerly CIT 448)
Prerequisite(s): (CIT 247or CSE 247 or CSI 2470 ) and major standing in CS/IT.
