ECE 4230 - Satellite-based Positioning System

Introduction to satellite-based positioning systems with emphasis on Global Positioning System (GPS), GPS satellite constellation, coordinate systems, timing standards, GPS signal structure. Determination of position from range measurements. Ranging error sources and mitigation techniques. Impact of ranging errors and satellite geometry on 3-dimensional position error. (Formerly ECE 450)
