ECN 3150 - Economics of Gender and Ethnicity

Employs basic economic principles and standard economic theories to explore and analyze issues of gender and ethnicity at the domestic, national and international levels. Also focuses on gender related outcomes over time and across ethnic groupings. Key topics include: the economics of family structure; patterns of household and labor market activity; patterns of education and occupational choice; gender and ethnic earnings gaps; interplay of gender and ethnicity in the economy; theories of discrimination; and gender/ethnic issues in international perspective. (Formerly ECN 315) Satisfies the university general education requirement in U.S. diversity.
Prerequisite(s): (ECN 150 or ECN 1500 ) or (ECN 201 or ECN 2010 ) or (ECN 210 or ECN 2100 ), with a minimum grade of 2.0.
