Introduction to the fundamentals of classical thermodynamics and heat transfer; first and second laws of thermodynamics; thermodynamic property relationships; application to engineering systems and processes; introduction to conduction, convection and radiation; steady 1-D conduction and extended surfaces; lumped capacitance method. Offered fall and winter. (Formerly EGR 250) Satisfies the university general education requirement in the natural science and technology knowledge exploration area.
