ME 4200 - Vibrations and Controls

Linear free and forced response of one- and multiple-degree freedom systems. Equations of motion of discrete systems. Vibration isolation, rotating imbalance and vibration absorbers. Transfer function and state-space approaches to modeling dynamic systems. Time and frequency domain and analysis and design of control systems. Use of MATLAB. Offered fall and winter. (Formerly ME 421)
Prerequisite(s): (ME 322 or ME 3200 ), (MTH 254 or MTH 2554 ), (APM 255 or APM 2555 ) and major standing.
