As a department within the School of Education and Human Services, the instructional staff of the Reading and Language Arts Department offers courses in reading, language arts, instructional systems technology and children’s literature at the undergraduate level for students pursuing a career in teaching. The department offers a master’s degree program in reading and language arts, certificate programs in microcomputer applications, postmaster’s certificate programs, K-12 reading specialist endorsements, a master’s degree program combined with the early childhood endorsement and a doctor of philosophy degree in reading education.
