Requirements for an elementary teaching major in a modern language


The requirement for an elementary teaching major in a modern language is a minimum of 32 credits.

Note


At least 16 credits of those required for the elementary teaching major in a modern language must be taken at Oakland University.

Additional information


In addition, an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) score of advanced-low (intermediate-high for Japanese and Chinese) and EED 428, Methods of Teaching Foreign Language are required. After September 1, 2017, an official ACTFL OPPI rating will be required. Students must consult with the appropriate advisor for teaching majors and minors in the department.
