The Accelerated Applied Statistics Bachelor of Science to Applied Statistics Master of Science Program (B.S. to M.S.) option is designed for highly motivated and qualified students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics at Oakland University and wishing to complete a Master of Science in Applied Statistics directly following. The accelerated B.S. to M.S. program allows students to take three graduate level courses, STA 5002, STA 5113, and STA 5114 while still an undergraduate and pay undergraduate tuition rates. These three graduate-level courses will substitute for STA 4002 , STA 4227 and STA 4228 within the Applied Statistics, B.S.

To be eligible for the Applied Statistics, B.S. to M.S. option, students must:
- Complete MTH 2554 , MTH 2775 and STA 2226 .
- Have a strong quantitative background and a major GPA of 3.3 or above.
- Show proficiency in computer programming, as satisfied by completing courses such as CSI 1300 , EGR 1400 , MIS 4470 , CSI 1420 , CSI 2310 , or CSI 3610 , or a letter of support from a former employer or adviser.
- Apply for and receive delayed admission into the M.S. program and thereby the substitution of graduate classes STA 5002, STA 5113 and STA 5114 for STA 4002 , STA 4227 and STA 4228 . Note: Students must receive formal delayed admission into the program to be eligible to register for STA 5002, STA 5113 and STA 5114.
- Complete STA 5002, STA 5113 and STA 5114 with a grade of (B) or better.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA to completion of the B.A. degree in applied statistics.
Students admitted to this accelerated program can graduate with an M.S. degree in five years.
