    Overview of principles relating to the control and disposition of property inter vivos and after death. Includes discussion of wills, interstate succession, trusts, future interests, disability planning and living wills. Fundamental income, gift, estate and inheritance tax and probate considerations are introduced as part of the estate planning process. Students draft several representative documents.     This course is designed to provide a conceptual and practical understanding of why commodity prices change and the strategies for reducing the risks related to pricing variations. The underlying concepts will be discussed in the context of the aluminum market due in part to aluminum’s growing importance in the automotive industry and the presence of a formal exchange. The first part of the course will focus on an understanding of the most significant economic factors that explain why commodity prices in general and aluminum prices, in particular, change.     The Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows 10 certification includes the following courses:

    • Course 20697-1: Installing and Configuring Windows 10 (Enterprise)
    • Course 20697-2: Deploying and Managing Windows 10 (Enterprise Services)
    • Course 20698A: Installing and Configuring Windows 10 (Windows Server Domain)

    Course Objectives: This five-day instructor-led course provides IT professionals and administrators with the knowledge and skills required to install, configure, deploy, and manage Windows 10 desktops, devices, and applications in an enterprise environment. 20697-1 and 20697-2 focus on Windows Enterprise, while 20698A focuses on the Windows Server Domain. These skills include learning how to install and customize Windows 10 operating systems and apps, configure local and remote network connectivity, and configure local and online storage. Students will also learn how to configure security in addition to how to maintain, update, and recover Windows 10.

    In 20697-2, students learn how to plan and implement Windows 10 deployments in large organizations. Students also learn how to manage the Windows 10 installations after deployment to provide secure identity and data access using technologies related to Group Policy, Remote Access, and Workplace Join. To support a variety of device and data management solutions, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Azure Rights Management are introduced. These services are part of the Enterprise Mobility Suite, which provides identity and access management, and cloud-based device, application, and update management. In addition, Enterprise Mobility Suite offers more secure data access to information stored both in the cloud and on location within corporate networks.

    The Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) certification program is aligned specifically to the job role of the Cisco Network Security Engineer responsible for Security in Routers, Switches, Networking devices and appliances, as well as choosing, deploying, supporting and troubleshooting Firewalls, VPNS, and IDS/IPS solutions for networking environments.

    Course Topics:

Students gain the ability to implement and manage security on Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco routers with the firewall feature set, and Cisco switches.
    • SIMOS: This course prepares network security engineers with the knowledge and skills needed to protect data traversing a public or shared infrastructure, such as the Internet, by implementing and maintaining Cisco VPN solutions and using Cisco ASA adaptive security appliances and Cisco IOS routers to troubleshoot remote-access and site-to-site VPN solutions.
    • SITCS: This course prepares network security engineers with the knowledge and skills to implement Ciscos FirePOWER Next-Generation IPS, AMP, Web Security, Email Security and Cloud Web Security. Students gain hands-on experience with configuring various advanced Cisco security solutions for mitigating outside threats and securing traffic traversing the firewall.

  • CEED 10000 - Integrating Beekeeping Across the Curriculum

    Within curriculum theory exist models of curriculum integration used to integrate honey bee biology and habitat, beehive management and safety issues, pest management, the importance of honeybees to the human food system, natural environment and culture across K-16 curriculum while aligning local, state and/or national standards. On-site apiary learning is required. Oakland University Hold Harmless Waiver is required prior to enrollment.
