Explores the concept of law and its expression in different societies and cultural contexts. The comparative development of legal institutions is studied in relationship to social structure. The organization of the legal system and profession is studied as related to the capacity of the law to affect behavior as an instrument of social control. Identical with (AN 320 or AN 3230 ). (Formerly SOC 320)
Prerequisite(s): (SOC 100 or SOC 1000 ) or (SOC 205 or SOC 2200 ) or (AN 102 or AN 1111 )
