History of American families as social institutions, emphasizing the impact of historical events and trends upon family composition, family functions and family life. Includes research in the student’s personal family history. Identical with (HST 361 or HST 3275 ).  (Formerly WGS 361) Satisfies the university general education requirement in U.S. diversity.
