CECS 11300 001 - EC Council - Certified Network Defender CEU: 4 hours The Certified Network Defender course provides a detailed understanding for, and hands-on ability to, function in real-life situations involving network defense. Students will gain the technical depth required to actively design a secure organizational network. This course provides a fundamental understanding of the true construct of data transfer, network technologies, and software technologies so students understand how networks operate, what software is automating, and how to analyze the subject material.
Course Objectives:
- To teach students how to protect, detect and respond to the network attacks.
- To instruct on network defense fundamentals, the application of network security controls, protocols, perimeter appliances, secure IDS, VPN and firewall configuration.
- To provide the intricacies of network traffic signature, analysis and vulnerability scanning, to be utilized when designing greater network security policies and successful incident response plans, overall providing skills to foster resiliency and continuity of operations during attacks.
