ACC 5500 - Tax Research, Planning and Administration

(3 credits)

Tax research will include an analysis and instruction in tax research techniques, materials and methodology used to practice in the field of taxation.  This will be a “hands on” experience, with several research challenges assigned, requiring use of tax research tools by the student.  Tax planning will include an analysis of selected opportunities to add significant value through tax planning in business and/or personal situations, such as corporation vs partnership structures, cross-border planning opportunities, estate & gift planning, etc.  Tax administration will include coverage of professional standards, ethics and IRS matters. Formerly ACC 550.

Prerequisite(s): ACC 3500 or ACC 5150 or an equivalent course.
