STA 2221 - Introduction to Statistical Methods (4) Introduction to statistical thinking and applications to industrial and similar processes. Descriptive statistics, distributions, and probability models useful in process control and systems reliability; confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, regression, and basic experimental design. Statistical concepts to be reinforced with case studies promoting problem solving skills and statistical thinking. Mathematics and statistics majors cannot use STA 2221 to replace STA 2226 . Prerequisite(s): MTH 1221 with a grade of (C) or higher; or MTH 1441 with a grade of (C) or higher; or MTH 1331 and MTH 1332 , each with a grade of (C) or higher; or placement.
