CRJ 3227 - Police and Society (4) Examines the history and role of the police in modern society. Special attention given to analyzing the police subculture and problems inherent in the control of the citizenry and police, handling special populations, the police as a quasi-militaristic bureaucracy, surveillance techniques on the police organization and issues of police deviance. Identical with SOC 3450 . Prerequisite(s): CRJ 2100 or SOC 1000
