This course focuses on the conceptual foundations of professional nursing practice and the transition to baccalaureate nursing education for the registered nurse. Topics will include role transition and career development, writing for the discipline of nursing, use of the American Psychological Association (APA) writing format, identification of issues and concepts relevant to professional nursing practice (e.g. quality improvement, patient safety, leadership, collaboration, etc.), the role of the baccalaureate-prepared nurse in professional nursing practice, and the importance of life-long learning.
