PHL 3110 - Freedom, Agency, and Responsibility (4) Seminar on the philosophical issues of freedom of choice and action. Are we ever truly free? Are free choices and actions inconsistent with determinism in nature? Does morality require freedom? Discussion of these issues based on historical and contemporary sources (e.g., Kant, Nietzsche, Frankfurt, and Dennett). General Education Requirement(s): Satisfies the university general education requirement for a writing intensive course in general education or the major, not both. Prerequisite for writing intensive: completion of the university writing foundation requirement. Prerequisite(s): One course in philosophy and WRT 1060 or equivalent with a grade of (C) or higher
