An introduction to education that examines how students learn, what it means to teach, and how schools work as systems. Cognitive science, approaches to teaching, and the purposes and structure of the public schools are major course topics. The course contributes to core program commitments of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
General Education Requirement(s): Satisfies the university general education requirement for a writing intensive course in the major. Prerequisite for writing intensive: completion of the university writing foundation requirement.
Prerequisite(s): WRT 1060 (B or better)
