NTR 3140 - Food, Nutrition, and Culture

Food plays an essential role in society and cultural interactions. The course critically examines global cultural values, beliefs, and experiences that influence what, how, when, and why we eat. This includes social, political, religious, and economic context as well as issues of globalization, agricultural food production systems and sustainability. (Formerly HS/NTR3130, but NOT equivalent).
General Education Requirement(s): Satisfies the university general education requirement in the global perspective knowledge exploration area.
Additional Requirement(s): Junior or senior standing or instructor permission
Prerequisite(s): NTR 2500
