EXS 3550 - Neuropathic Disorders

In this lab and clinical based course, the student will focus on the significant impact of the major neuropathic disorders-Diabetes Mellitus, vascular conditions and lymphedema of both the upper and lower extremity. The underlying disease process and appropriate interventions will be explored in the clinical and lab settings.  The students will learn measuring techniques, fitting skills and adjustments  and modifications for these specific diagnoses and selected protocols.  Additional challenges with compression garments such as burn patients, morbid obesity, the elderly and post-surgical challenges will also be explored.
