ECE 4600 - Fundamentals of AC Motor Design (4) The course covers structure and principle of operation of AC Induction and Synchronous machines, sizing impacts on machine operation and different winding types. Major topics include: magnetic materials, permeance and reluctance, basics of magnetic circuits, flux path calculations, electromagnetic forces, machine losses and thermal analysis. This course is cross-listed with a graduate course. Credit cannot be received for both ECE 4600 and ECE 5600. Additional Requirement(s): Major Standing. Prerequisite(s): ECE 2005
