SED 6000 - Instruction 3: Advanced Instruction

(3 credits)

Learning to teach secondary students is a challenging and deeply rewarding endeavor. Since this course occurs after student teaching, you have already experienced a sustained lead teaching experience with students in high school and middle school classrooms. This class will continue your learning adventure along this path, but since teaching is more of a journey than a destination, our learning far from complete. This course helps teachers develop specific knowledge, competencies, and skills required for effective teaching in the student’s major field. Two specific areas of instructional improvement drive this course: (1) advanced disciplinary teaching methodologies and (2) advanced methodologies to improve educational diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prerequisite(s): SED 5210

Course revisions made after the Graduate Catalog publication date will be posted in the Graduate Catalog Addendum.
