PHL 3300 - Ethical Theory (4) Advanced course in ethics. Major theories of ethics such as utilitarianism and duty-based deontology. Is there one basic moral principle, or are there many distinct principles? Are there true general ethical principles? How can we use ethical theories to resolve moral dilemmas?
General Education Requirement(s): Satisfies the university general education requirement in the knowledge applications integration area. Prerequisite for knowledge applications integration: completion of the general education requirement in the western civilization knowledge exploration area. Satisfies the university general education requirement for a writing intensive course in general education or the major, not both. Prerequisite for writing intensive: completion of the university writing foundation requirement. Prerequisite(s): WRT 1060 or equivalent with a grade of (C) or higher; PHL 1300 strongly recommended
