This course provides an extensive overview into the dynamic and diverse cultures and societies in East Asia, particularly Japan, Korea and Chinese-speaking countries, e.g China, Taiwan, and Singapore. Through a study of historical traditions, modern transformations, and contemporary pop culture phenomena, students will explore how East Asian countries have evolved and become key players in domestic and global exchanges.
