ECE 4761 - Fundamentals of Safety-Critical Embedded Systems (4) Students gain an understanding of various embedded systems features and software constructs that provide fault-tolerance to meet a product’s regulatory compliances, use cases and unexpected behaviors. The course will guide students through the major theories and the students will apply the knowledge through real-world examples, and publications. This course provides exposure to problem framing, automotive safety regulations (ISO26262), quantitative reliability metrics (FIT), intelligent partitioning, APIs (AUTOSAR), static and dynamic fault recovery, and professional documentation and communication skills.
*Approved Slash Course. Credit can only be earned for ECE 4761 or ECE 5761.
Prerequisite(s): ECE 3720 and major standing
