Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree

Students in the SON must complete 125 credits and satisfy the following:
|
1. Complete all academic requirements identified in the SON plan of study.
2. Satisfy the OU general education requirements.
3. Complete at least 32 credits at or above the 3000-level.
4. Pre-licensure students
Pre-licensure students (Basic-BSN and ASD) must succesfully satisfy both the SON Medication Administration Examination and the ATI Comprehensive Predictor Exam (CPE) requirements to graduate from the SON. Pre-licensure students will take the ATI CPE in their final semester and must achieve the SON benchmark of 89% on the “Predicted Probability of Passing NCLEX-RN on the first attempt” to graduate. Pre-licensure students who do not achieve the SON benchmark on ATI CPE will be given remediation activities, re-tested with a different version of the examination, and will not graduate until they achieve the SON benchmark of 89% on the “Predicted Probability of Passing NCLEX-RN on the first attempt”. Re-testing will continue until each student achieves the SON benchmark of 89% on the “Predicted Probability” of Passing NCLEX-RN. |
