The Certificate in Dance Education is a special course of study designed for candidates who wish to teach Dance in a K-12 setting. It is designed to give students the knowledge and skills that allow them to effectively use National Core Art Standards (NCAS) in Dance in both public and private schools. Candidates must complete an application and demonstrate that they possess the basic competencies in Dance to successfully complete the certificate.
Admission requirements:
- Application demonstrating competencies in Dance that will show ability to complete the program.
- Applicants are admitted to one of three tracks, based on their previous experience and degree.

Traditional Certificate in Dance Education (26 credits)
For students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Dance, or with a completed bachelor’s degree in Dance
Alternate Certification in Dance Education (16 credits)
For candidates with a completed bachelor’s degree in Dance and a full-time position in a K-12 school as a Dance Educator
Certificate in Dance Education (15 credits)
For candidates with a completed bachelor’s degree in any endorsed content in K-12 Education
