Requirements


The minor in LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) studies combines historical, social science, interpersonal and institutional investigations of sexualities, sexual identities and gender identities in U.S. and global contexts. The minor provides an overview to the subject, a theoretical framework and hands-on experience in the form of internships as well as examinations into culture and institutions such as education.

To earn a minor in LGBTQ Studies, students must complete a minimum of 20 credit hours as follows:

Note:


For students electing a major in Women and Gender Studies and a minor in LGBTQ, only 4 credits of course overlap between the two programs is allowed.
