Requirements

The minor in Applied Geographic Information Science (GIScience) provides a framework to understand theories, methods and techniques associated with geospatial technologies. Students then learn to apply GIScience and spatial technologies in real-world situations through a choice of directed study, fieldwork or internship opportunities.

To earn a minor in Applied GIScience, students must complete a minimum of 20 credit hours as follows:

• AN 3800 - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (4)
• AN 3801 - Principles of Cartography (4)
• AN 3802 - Remote Sensing (RS) Using Aerial and Satellite Imagery (4)
