Requirements for certificate in translation program, modern languages

Students qualify for a certificate in translation by completing 12 credits of translation in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, or Spanish. Required courses for each language are listed below. Note: A 4800 course counts for the certificate, but does not apply towards the credit requirements for a language major or minor.

In all cases a student must complete 12 credits in translation at OU. Students interested in this certificate should contact an adviser in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.

CHE 3550 - Translation: Chinese (4)  

CHE 4550 - Advanced Translation from English to Chinese (4)

FRH 1600 - Texts from the French and Francophone World (pre-1800) (4)  or FRH 1610 - Texts from the French and Francophone World (post-1800) (4)  

FRH 3550 - Translation into English (4)
