Requirements for the liberal arts minor in Spanish language and literature

20 credits of Spanish (SPN) at the 2000 level and above, including

• SPN 2140  -  Second Year Spanish I (4) *
• SPN 2150  -  Second Year Spanish II (4) *
• SPN 3140  -  Spanish Grammar Review (4)  
• SPN 3170  -  Intermediate Spanish Conversation and Composition (4)  or SPN 3190  -  Business Spanish: Communications and Journalism (4)  or SPN 3200  -  Spanish for Technical Professions (4)  

*Students who place out of SPN 2140 or SPN 2150 can complete the overall 20 credit requirement with any of the courses listed below.

Choose one of the following

• SPN 3700  -  Introduction to Spanish Literature (4)  
• SPN 3800  -  Introduction to Spanish-American Literature (4)  
• SPN 4160  -  Spanish Literature - Fifteenth and Sixteenth Centuries (4)  
• SPN 4200  -  Modern and Contemporary Spanish Literature (4)  
• SPN 4880  -  Spanish-American Literature before 1888 (4)  
• SPN 4890  -  Spanish-American Literature after 1888 (4)  

Note

At least 12 credits of those required for the minor in any of the languages must be taken at Oakland University.
