The minor in Mechanical Engineering is open to students who are not majoring in mechanical engineering and wish to expand their knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering.
Specific offerings for each semester may be found in the Schedule of Classes.

Requirements for the Minor in Mechanical Engineering
To earn a minor in Mechanical Engineering, students must complete a minimum of 15 credits. At least 11 of these credits must be taken at Oakland University. A minimum grade of C is required in each course for this minor. Students may need to obtain permission from the Department of Mechanical Engineering in order to register for ME courses at the 3000- and 4000- levels. Students are to verify and satisfy pre-requisites for each course they select as part of the minor. At least 8 credits of courses chosen for the Minor in Mechanical Engineering must be non-duplicative with coursework in the student’s major, concentration, or another minor.
Pre-requisites (do not count towards minor credits)
Depending on the courses selected by the student, additional math course prerequisites may apply.
Required Courses (11-12 credits): Select three courses
Elective (4 credits)
Any 3000- or 4000-level ME course(s) not used to satisfy the required courses.
