The liberal arts minor in public relations requires a minimum of 20 credits distributed as follows:

Requirements for the liberal arts minor in public relations

To successfully complete the minor in public relations, students must complete a minimum of 20 credits including:

1. Required core courses:

PR 2500 - Introduction to Public Relations (4)
PR 2510 - Public Relations and Advertising Writing (4)

2. Elective courses (choose three):

Three elective courses from the following options (at least 2 courses must be 3000 level or above):

COM 3200 - Persuasion (4)
COM 3401 - Communication in Organizations (4)
COM 4404 - Crisis Communication (4)
COM 4950 - Internship (4) (when applicable to public relations and approved by internship coordinator)
JMS 4025 - Media Ethics and Law (4)
JMS 4200 - Media Design (4)
PR 2400 - Introduction to Advertising (4)
PR 3700 - Research Methods in Public Relations and Advertising (4)
PR 3400 - Case Studies in Public Relations (4)
