Computer Science, B.S., Concentration in Computer Systems and Networking

The Computer Science and Engineering Department offers an optional major-dependent concentration in Computer Systems and Networking to students interested in broadening their knowledge in this specific area and wishing to include this concentration in their degree. The concentration is only available to any student enrolled in the Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. The concentration will be noted on the transcript of the students.

Specific offerings for each semester may be found in the Schedule of Classes. Requirements for the Computer Science, B.S., Concentration in Computer Systems and Networking
To earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Computer Systems and Networking, students must fulfill all the requirements of the Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and complete a minimum of 15 credits by selecting courses from the groups listed below. These selected courses also count toward fulfilling the professional electives and flexible electives requirements of the Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Please refer to the Computer Science degree requirements for details. Completing the concentration requires minimum 128 credits. Requirements include all three courses from Group A and one course from Group B. Note
Students may pursue more than one concentration, but completing multiple concentrations will necessitate more than the standard 128 credits required for the degree. Each concentration must be completed as part of the degree program. At least 8 credits of courses selected from the above groups for the concentration must be non-duplicative with coursework in the student’s minor, another major, or another concentration. Students interested in the concentration should consult an academic adviser for guidance on course selection. Additional Program Information
