Requirements for the music technology minor

The curriculum for the minor in music technology consists mainly of music classes intended for non-majors. This minor requires no audition. Students must complete a minimum of 16 credits in:

Required Music Technology courses

• MUS 2701 - Creative Composition I (2)  
• MUS 3053 - Acoustics for Musicians (2)  
• MUS 3054 - Basic Recording Techniques (2)  
• MUS 3701 - Music Technology I: MIDI and Sequencing (2)  

General Music courses - 8 credits selected from

• MUS 1000 - An Introduction to Music (4)  Required for all non-auditioned music students
• MUS 1001 - What’s On Your Playlist? Music Listening and the Self (4)  
• MUS 1002 - Exploring Technology in Music (4)  
• MUS 1006 - Exploring Film Music (4)  
• MUS 2020 - Computer-based Music Composition (4)
