Specific offerings for each semester may be found in the Schedule of Classes. Requirements for the liberal arts major in Journalism and Media Studies, B.A. program with a specialization in Broadcasting and Digital Media Practice
This specialization in Broadcasting and Digital Media Practice prepares students for the converged, digital broadcasting ecosystem. Students gain valuable hands-on experience with traditional broadcasting equipment, as well as novel cutting-edge production practices for an online and streaming media environment, such as web content, podcasting, video games, etc. While this area of specialization is rooted in practice, theoretical and knowledge-based courses enrich and round out students’ education, preparing them as much as possible for an ever evolving media landscape.
To earn the Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and media studies with a specialization in broadcasting and digital media practice, students must complete a minimum of 40 credits, with at least 15 credits at the 3000 level or above, distributed as follows: 1. Required core courses (must be completed with a grade of (C) or higher)
2. Capstone requirement: choose one (must be completed with a grade of (C) or higher)
