Requirements for the Certificate in Media Literacy

Students qualify for a Certificate in Media Literacy by completing a minimum of three of the following courses listed below.

1. Required core course

JMS 1600 - Introduction to Media Literacy (4)

2. Elective courses (choose two):

JMS 3602 - Television Studies in the Streaming Age (4)
JMS 3603 - Popular Music Studies (4)
JMS 3606 - Media, Gender and Sexuality (4)
JMS 3607 - Rise of Electronic Media (4)
JMS 3290 - Media Storytelling for Social Justice (4)
JMS 2600 - Media and Social Identity (4)
