Interdisciplinary Studies, B.I.S./Public Administration, MPA, Combined B.I.S./MPA (Pending Final Approval)

The Combined B.I.S./MPA program is designed for high achieving undergraduate students pursuing a B.I.S. at Oakland University and wishing to complete a Master of Public Administration degree. The combined B.I.S./MPA allows students to take four graduate level courses, PA 5100, PA 5200 and PA 5300, and one 5000-level PA elective, while still an undergraduate and pay undergraduate tuition rates. Within the B.I.S. requirements, the graduate credits taken would replace up to 13 credits of the required 32 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level. Students would still be required to complete BIS 3000 and BIS 4930.
To be eligible for the combined BA to Graduate Certificate option, students must
- Have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher and;
- Completed at least 4 courses at the 3000 or 4000 level and;
- Apply for and receive delayed admission to the Graduate Certificate.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average at completion of the B.I.S. and gain formal admission into the MPA program.
Note: Students must receive formal delayed admission into the MPA program to be eligible to register for graduate courses in the MPA program.
