ME 4740 - Robotic Systems

Overview of industrial robotic manipulators, their components and typical applications. Kinematics of robots and solution of kinematic equations. Trajectory planning and the Jacobian matrix. Robot programming languages and task planning. Laboratory experience in the development and implementation of a kinematic controller using a reconfigurable industrial manipulator. Demonstrations and application using industrial robots. Generally offered fall. Credit cannot be received for both (ISE 422 or ISE 4422 ) and (ME 478 or ME 4740). (Formerly ME 478)
Prerequisite(s): (ME 322 or ME 3200 ) and major standing.
