ME 5210 - Analysis and Design of Mechanical Structures (4 credits)
Methods of advanced mechanics of materials applied to the design of mechanical structures. Topics include stress and strain analysis, force equilibrium, deformation compatibility, torsion of non-circular cross-sections, torsion of thick-walled tubes, shear centers, non- symmetric binding, curved and composite beams and thick-walled cylinders. This course is cross listed with a undergraduate course. Credit cannot be received for both ME 5210 and ME 4210. Generally offered fall.Offered fall.
