ME 5730 - Fasteners and Bolted Joints (4 credits)
Analysis, design, and reliability of bolted joint systems under static and dynamic loads. Topics include torque-tension-turn formulation, process control, service and environmental loads, fatigue, elastic interaction, vibration loosening, creep relaxation, and corrosion. With laboratory experiments. This course is cross-listed with an undergraduate course. Credit cannot be received for both ME 5730 and ME 4730. Generally offered fall. Prerequisite(s): ME 4300 or equivalent.
