ME 6730 - Advanced Material Joining (4 credits)
This course covers various design, analysis, and failure modes of load-bearing structural joint systems under static, dynamic, thermal, and environmental loads. This includes threaded, adhesively bonded, and hybrid bonded-and-threaded joints that are made of similar or dissimilar materials. Sample topics include vibration-induced loosening, adhesive characterization, and reversible adhesives.
Prerequisite(s) ME 5730 or equivalent fastening and joining knowledge.
