CSI 5480 - Information Security Practices

(4 credits)

Introduction to both theoretical and hands-on aspects of vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and system hardening. Topics include basics of confidentiality, integrity and authentication; footprinting, scanning, assessment, and validations of systems and application vulnerabilities; system remediation, implementation of security policies using host and network level firewalls and intrusion detection and prevention system. Cross-listed with CSI 4480. With laboratory.
