ALS 5538 - Curriculum, Material Design, Assessment and Compliance (4 credits)
Investigate language assessment cycle, tools; identification, evaluation, placement of English learners (ELs) in proficiency appropriate levels/programs; apply assessment results in selection, modification, design of age-appropriate materials to meet ELs needs; investigate strategies preparing ELs for standardized tests; investigate legal obligations and impact on policies on education of ELs. This course is cross-listed with ALS 4438. Prerequisite(s): ALS 5518 or permission of instructor.
