ECE 5532 - Autonomous Vehicle Systems I (4 credits)
Overview of mobile robotics concepts. Fundamental theoretical concepts: kinematics modeling, rotation matrices, quaternions, Kalman filters. Basic sensors, wheel encoders, inertial measurement units (IMU), GPS, LIDAR, and cameras. Planning and control algorithms; deliberate and reactionary path planning, environment mapping, path optimization, leader-follower, GPS navigation. Simulation using Robot Operating System (ROS) and C++. Cross-listed with ECE 4532. Students can’t receive credit for both courses.
