    Culminating project intended to develop knowledge and experience in an area of vocal or instrumental pedagogy that is of particular interest to the student.   • NRS 5021 - Vulnerable Populations and Social Issues

    This course will focus on the concept of vulnerability and the role of nursing in meeting the health care needs of vulnerable populations. Developmental, social, cultural, racial, socioeconomic, political, and health care issues that predispose people to vulnerability, outcomes of vulnerability, and the cycle of vulnerability will be emphasized.   • NRS 5221 - Diversity and Social Issues

    This course focuses on human diversity in health and illness to assure delivery of health care.   • NRS 5302 - Statistics in Advanced Nursing Practice

    ( 3 credits)

    Statistics in Advanced Nursing Practice assists students to develop a conceptual understanding of statistical analysis to appropriately evaluate its use in scholarly literature. This course also assists students in the analysis of research data collected to support examination of their own advanced nursing practice. NRS 5302 is a prerequisite/corequisite to NRS 8671, if the student has not completed an equivalent graduate-level statistics course.

  • NRS 5312 - Theory and Transitional Research for Advanced Nursing Practice

    (4 credits)

    This course will link critical components of theory and research as they apply to advanced nursing practice.  Relevant theories and concepts from basic, applied, social, and interdisciplinary sciences will be examined as well as research processes within quantitative and qualitative methodologies.   • NRS 6411 - Advanced Pathophysiology Across the Lifespan

    (3 credits)

    This course builds upon previous knowledge of normal physiology and pathophysiology. Students examines the interrelation of human physiology and pathophysiology in response to health, illness, and disease across the lifespan. In addition, the interaction of physiologic response with psychosocial, situational, and cultural stressors is analyzed.

  • NRS 6441 - Advanced Pharmacology Across the Lifespan

    (4 credits)

    This course builds on previous knowledge of pharamacotherapeutics and pharmacokinetics of broad categories of pharmacologic agents. The course places emphasis on skills to assess, diagnose, and manage (including the prescription of pharmacologic agents) a patient’s common health problems in a safe, high quality, cost-effective manner across the lifespan.

  • NRS 6442 - Pharmacology for Women’s Health

    (2 credits)

    Pharmacological agents will be considered with regard for the pharmacodynamics, therapeutic goals and pharmaconkinetics. Pharmaceuticals used to promote and maintain female health will be examined. Drug Therapies used in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions are analyzed.

  • NRS 6452 - Pharmacology for the Childbearing and Reproductive Cycle

    (2 credits)

    This course focuses on reproductive, gynecological and childbearing conditions that alter the chemical processes of an agent in women during the childbearing cycle. Pharmaceutical categories of agents for pregnant and lactating women’s health are examined. Prescribing and monitoring pharmacological agents prior to conception, during gestation and during lactation are analyzed.

    Focuses on nursing leadership incorporating theory and research as it applies to the role of the CNL in the health care delivery system.
