Within the School of Education and Human Services, the faculty of the Department of Human Development and Child Studies offers courses in special education at the undergraduate level for students pursuing a career in teaching. A major in early childhood education that meets the ZS endorsement requirements is available for elementary education students. The department houses master’s degree programs in early childhood education and special education; these graduate programs provide endorsements and/or professional education certification requirements. The department also offers an Educational Specialist degree in Early Education and Intervention and a doctor of philosophy degree in early childhood.
