The mission of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is to empower everyone to learn cutting edge computing skills through hands-on and foundational education and research to meet real-world challenges in Michigan and beyond. To serve that mission, the department is offering undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. The department also offers masters programs in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering and Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and a Ph.D. program in Computer Science and Informatics. The Computer Science and Information Technology programs are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET under the General Criteria and the Computer Science and Information Technology Program Criteria.
