Overview of inter-related environmental and resource issues at the regional and global levels. Current institutions, laws and policies for addressing issues including global warming, climate change, biodiversity/species decline, trade/environment linkages, water resources, depletion of global fisheries and rainforests. Satisfies the university general education requirement in the knowledge applications integration area. Prerequisite for knowledge applications integration: completion of the university general education requirement in the social science knowledge exploration area. Satisfies the university general education requirement for a writing intensive course in general education or the major, not both. Prerequisite for writing intensive: completion of the university writing foundation requirement. Identical with ENV 354.
