Chinese Language and Civilization Minor

Students must complete 20 credits, including

• CHE 214 - Second Year Chinese (4) Credits
• CHE 215 - Second Year Chinese (4) Credits
• CHE 316 - Chinese Conversation (2) Credits
• CHE 318 - Chinese Composition (2) Credits
• CHE 351 - Chinese Civilization (4) Credits
• CHE 355 - Translation: Chinese (4) Credits

In addition

• IS 210 - Introduction to China (4) Credits is a corequisite course for the minor

The following can qualify as an alternative to CHE 351

• CHE 314 - Grammar Review Through Translation (4) Credits
• CHE 357 - Chinese Business Communication (4) Credits
• CHE 390 - Directed Readings in Chinese (2 or 4) Credits
• CHE 408 - Advanced Chinese Conversation and Reading (4) Credits

Note

At least 12 credits of those required for the minor in Chinese language and civilization must be taken at Oakland University.
